Install on Squarespace

Use Code Injection Header and place SiteTrust first, then save and publish.

Add the script

Code Injection is available on Squarespace plans that include it (typically Business and above). Copy the Header snippet from Banner Setup → Installation.

<script src="https://www.sitetrust.com/consent-widget.js"
  data-configuration-id="YOUR_CONFIGURATION_ID">
</script>

Step 1. Open Code Injection

Go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection (Squarespace 7.1: Website → Pages → Website Tools → Code Injection on some sites).

Step 2. Paste in Header

Paste the SiteTrust script at the top of the Header field, above GTM, Analytics, pixels, and chat.

Step 3. Save and publish

Save. View the public website. Squarespace preview can omit injected code.

If you already use Squarespace Analytics or Google

Connected Google accounts under Marketing / Connected Accounts can still load GA or Ads. After SiteTrust is first in Header, verify Consent Mode default in the console. If Google still loads before the default, disconnect the extra tag or move Google through GTM and follow the GTM guide.

After you publish

  1. Open the live URL in an Incognito window, not only the editor preview.
  2. Confirm the banner appears before any click.
  3. Accept once and Decline once in separate clean sessions.
  4. Follow Test default, accept, and decline.
  5. Run Site Audit in the Client Trust Center.
